On the topic of enemies and obstacles, along the lines of having our personal data being used for profit, it is no coincidence that the public is dealing with Big Tech companies and their ever-growing influence on markets and society. “Congressional lawmakers finally got a chance Wednesday to grill the CEOs of Big Tech over their dominance and allegations of monopolistic practices that stifle competition. But it’s not clear how much they advanced their goal of bringing some of the world’s largest companies to heel. Invective flew as legislators questioned Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Sundar Pichai of Google and Tim Cook of Apple at a hearing of the House Judiciary subcommittee on antitrust. For the last year, that panel has probed the business practices of the Silicon Valley giants with an eye to determining if they need to be regulated more heavily, or even broken up.
The panel’s chairman, Rep. David Cicilline, a Rhode Island Democrat, said each platform controlled by Facebook, Amazon, Google and Apple “is a bottleneck for a key channel of distribution.”
“Whether they control access to information or to a marketplace, these platforms have the incentive and ability to exploit this power,” he said. “They can charge exorbitant fees, impose oppressive contracts, and extract valuable data from the people and businesses that rely on them.”
“Simply put: They have too much power.””
What we see as the animal of the day’s energies, lining up with the Fire Rat, who is courageous and dynamic, they think a lot and have a strong desire to embark on a campaign for fairness and justice. He is freedom living and very competitive and independent, and doesn’t like to be penned in. He hates what he perceives as ordinary existence. He is generous and loves to travel, eat good food and own property. Consuming the Year’s Metal Rat energy, we may find this influence, along with the Month’s Wood Monkey energy, trending to get along with each other but the bad moon phase makes it tricky today and the Fire’s energy from the Rat will win out — so people attempting to satisfy desires, passion will be seen running rampant today.
Watching your words, not being too blunt when working with others will bring success and bringing effort into business should pay off financially, watching moral responsibilities and taking advantage of the intelligence and wit of the day’s energies, as it is excellent for all business and exchange, relating to other people and building permanent relationships and also for banishing negativity. It is not, however a good day for making complaints or traveling at night. Today’s a day that produces fame and honor from society, but not good for undertaking new projects or construction. The direction North is favorable, as well as for building, hair cutting, planting but not cutting trees.
